Following the success of our 2023 summer event, Forage is thrilled to be partnering with RHS Chelsea Flower Show award-winner, Rob Evans of Pheasant Acre Plants, to present the return of Pick Your Own Flowers on Penllyn Estate Farm, just a stones throw from Forage itself.

Children's Art Workshops

£28.00 per child (7+)
This 2 hour workshop hosted by the Art Academy will capture your child’s creative flair as they get stuck in with colourful paints and learn how to use watercolours to produce a beautiful piece of art amongst the delightful setting of the flower fields.

This is a great way to encourage creativity, with local artist and Art Academy founder, Vicky Jones, on hand to guide them through each step.

Suitable for ages seven years and over, this is a wonderful opportunity for kids to get creative with their friends. It brings a new dimension to painting fun, allowing every participant to take home an artwork they’ll be proud of.

Adult supervision is not required so children can be dropped off.

Art Workshops (16+)

For the creative soul waiting to be unleashed, we invite you to a 2 hour workshop, suitable for both beginners to more established artists to inject enjoyment into visual communication.
 
Learn how to start drawing and painting with step-by-step demonstrations, practical exercises, and insightful tips by local artist Vicky Jones.  

This workshop will allow you to enjoy the bold and colourful flower field from dahlias to sunflowers whilst creating a beautiful A4 piece of artwork to take home and decorate your space. 

Explore creative techniques and approaches to produce a piece that will enable you to re-imagine and creatively re-interpret your subject matter to create contemporary expressive artwork.

Bug Hunt Wednesdays!

£5.00 per child
Sign your little explorers up for a morning of educational bug hunting in the Forage flower field. They will be fascinated by the wildlife and insects that our colourful flower field attracts.

Turn up any time between 10AM to 12.30PM, every Wednesday in August. Pots, nets and worksheets will be provided.

Getting married?
Why not come and pick your bouquet!

Throughout August and September, come and enjoy the beauty of these perfectly formed flowers as we plant over 120 varieties of dahlias for picking alongside rows of sunflowers and annual blooms. Be wowed by the colours and fragrance of the field with a flower arch to frame the scene. 

Extensive landscapes set the perfect backdrop for ample photo opportunities to capture memories to treasure with your family and friends. Our new 2024 season ticket option provides access anytime – perfect for the flora fanatics, as a thoughtful birthday gift or to share with a loved one for a special anniversary.

We invite you to take home a stunning bunch of flowers of your choice from our vibrant field where blooms cost £1.50 per stem (in addition to your ticket fee) and greenery is also available to make a striking bouquet. Bunches are hand-tied with twine or you can opt for gift wrap at and additional £1.

Please note that the blooms of sunflowers will depend on the weather so maybe available later on in August.

Please note, sunflowers may not be available from mid-September.

Are you a photographer looking for that picture perfect spot for your clients? Our flower field boasts a colourful backdrop, spacious setting and of course, ample natural light. We’re thrilled to offer our flower field for private hire this season.

Group Tour with Rob Evans

For the keen horticulturalist, we invite you to join a 60-minute tour of the flower field with gold-medallist, Rob Evans himself.

FAQ's

Each ticket admits one person with secateurs provided

Unfortunately, due to the layout of the flower field and uneven terrain, this is not suitable ground for wheelchairs or buggies.

Dogs are not permitted on the field due to hygiene reasons.

Food and drink is not allowed onsite, however with Forage only a 2-minute drive away, we encourage you to stop for a bite to eat before or after your visit to the flower field. There is bottled water available to purchase onsite. 

For  your own safety you are not allowed to visit the farm, this experience is strictly for the designated dahlia field.

Your enjoyment of the flower field should last approximately one hour. We ask that customers do not park their car in the dahlia car park for more than 1.5hours. However, there is plenty of space up at Forage.

There will be 1 hour time slots for you to book – you must arrive within your chosen time.

The designated car park will be clearly signposted as you enter Forage from the roundabout. For your own safety, cars are not permitted to stop on any part on the farmyard.

All bunches shall be hand tied with twine. Additional gift wrapping will be available at an extra cost.
