Lucy Walker from Blake Morgan

Hello, Sarah! Could you start by introducing yourself and telling us a bit about Blake Morgan?

I was extremely lucky. I came across Blake Morgan whilst working for a fantastic homelessness charity called Llamau and Blake Morgan became a Corporate Partner helping us raise awareness and funds. From the very beginning I loved working with the teams within Blake Morgan, they were so helpful and engaged and in the space of 1 year raised £11,000 and helped me increased my network.

Eventually a role opened up at the Cardiff Office and whilst I loved my team at Llamau, the opportunity was too good to ignore and I can honestly say that Blake Morgan is as nice to work for as they were to work with!

I now utterly enjoy my Role as Business Development Manager with the firm, and I am extremely happy that they encourage my charity work and continue to support Llamau as well as many many more important charities and initiatives.

What services do you offer?

Blake Morgan is a full service law firm with offices across the UK. With over 95 partners and 500 staff, we use our unique blend of technical expertise, broader experience and commercial realism to get the best results possible for our clients – be they small businesses, corporates, individuals, families, government, or not-for-profits.

Despite being a national firm, we have a local approach and with strong Welsh roots and over 100 staff in our Central Cardiff office. We are very proud of our tradition of providing high quality legal advice through the medium of Welsh, which extends back over half a century.

What is Blake Morgan’s company ethos?

At Blake Morgan, our key areas of focus are our clients, colleagues and communities. We are dedicated and determined in pursuit of success for our clients; support our people to build their careers and realise their full potential; and committed to giving back to our local communities.

What do you feel the secret to excellent client service is?

Relationships are key to providing outstanding client services. Our clients tell us that what sets us apart from other law firms is our understanding of their business goals and challenges, our human touch and our in-depth knowledge of the markets and industries in which they operate.

What sets Blake Morgan apart from your competitors?

We work very closely with our clients, so that we can really understand their business, and as a result we become almost an extension to their team. Because our lawyers are experts in their field we are able to tailor our advice to the needs of our clients and offer a  straight-forward and pragmatic approach, which our clients say is highly valued.
There are a lot of achievements to be proud of, but one that stands out is being recognised in the Inclusive Top 50 Employers list for six years in a row. Blake Morgan is the only law firm to be named in the list for 2022/23, which is a fantastic tribute to the work the firm is undertaking to improve equality, diversity and inclusion, including through our policies, processes, management and day-to-day behaviour.
What’s a long-term goal Blake Morgan has?

A key long-term goal for Blake Morgan is to make a difference – to our clients, through providing them with the support and advice they need, to our colleagues, by supporting them to pursue rewarding careers, and to our to communities, by giving back.
