Founded in 2022 by a mother and two daughters, Cascave Gin blends tradition, innovation, and local pride into every bottle. With bold flavours, sustainable practices, and a story as deep as the caves their gin matures in, they’re a perfect match for our shelves.
A Family Business with Welsh Spirit
Cascave Gin was born on the family farm, inspired by a love of G&Ts and a shared vision to create something truly Welsh. From the very beginning, their mission has been clear: to bottle the essence of the Brecon Beacons.
Their story is one of adventure, independence, and heritage. As a female-led, family-run business, Cascave stays rooted in family values while embracing modern techniques and local ingredients.
What Makes Cascave Gin Unique
Cascave Gin is the first gin in the world to be cave-aged.
Their flagship product is matured for 180 days in port-seasoned oak barrels, deep inside Dan yr Ogof Caves. But that’s not all. Each bottle is cut back using mineral-rich cave water, hand-collected from the source.
This method, known as their “Cave Spirits” process, adds a bold depth of flavour and gives every sip an authentic sense of place. The result is a gin that’s rich, complex, and unlike anything else on the market.
Meet the Gin: Award-Winning and Adventure Ready
The family are especially excited to introduce you to Cascave’s Cave Aged Gin – their signature spirit. Aged slowly underground, it carries subtle undertones of whisky and has won awards for its originality and taste. It’s a customer favourite for good reason.
Another standout is Stormy Gin, originally created as a limited-edition release in collaboration with Craft Gin Club. It was inspired by dramatic Welsh weather and features citrus notes balanced by earthy botanicals and warming pink peppercorns.
A Celebration of Local Ingredients
Cascave’s botanicals are carefully selected to reflect the Welsh landscape. These include:
• Meadowsweet
• Bilberry
• Wild sunflower root
• Pink peppercorns
Combined with the natural purity of cave water, these ingredients bring out a bold, balanced flavour in every bottle.
Sustainability from the Ground Up
Cascave Gin is committed to sustainability at every stage. They use fully recyclable packaging, work with Royal Mail as a low-impact delivery partner, and distil through Hensol Castle Distillery, which holds both SALSA and BRCGS accreditations.
Moreover, they actively support local causes, from charity festivals and Welsh tourism to collaborating with producers and hospitality venues. Their partnership with the National Showcaves for Wales has been especially important in bringing their vision to life.
