At Forage Farm Shop, we love discovering Welsh businesses that care about quality, craftsmanship and doing things properly. That is exactly what we found with Florence Green home fragrance, a family-run business creating luxury candles and scent products in Bridgend, just seven miles from Forage.
Founded by Kathryn Greenway in 2020, Florence Green began during maternity leave with her daughter, Florence. What started as a creative escape soon became something much bigger. Today, Kathryn runs the business full-time from the family studio in South Wales.
From Fragrance Industry Expert to Family Business
Kathryn brought more than two decades of fragrance experience to Florence Green. Before launching her own brand, she spent 20 years working in the fragrance industry for a major British retailer.
For six years, she balanced that career with building Florence Green during evenings and weekends. Then, in 2025, she made the decision to leave her corporate role and focus fully on her own business and family.
That journey has already brought some exciting moments. In 2026, Florence Green has been featured in British Vogue, adding another milestone to the brand’s story.
Florence Green Home Fragrance is Made in Bridgend
For Kathryn, home fragrance should feel like an everyday luxury rather than something reserved for special occasions.
That philosophy runs through every product. Florence Green creates candles, wax melts, reed diffusers and room sprays designed to make your home feel calmer, cosier and more inviting.
The team hand-pours every product in small batches at the Bridgend studio.
They use natural soy wax alongside carefully selected premium fragrance and aromatherapy oils.
Most importantly, Kathryn does not rush the process. Products can take up to two weeks to cure before they are ready. While that can mean waiting a little longer when something sells out, it helps maintain the quality Florence Green is known for.
Quality Comes First
One of the things that makes this Florence Green home fragrance range stand out is its high fragrance load.
The aim is simple: create scents that feel strong, true and long-lasting rather than disappearing after the first hour. That means using more fragrance and premium ingredients, even when it increases production costs.
Kathryn also takes a considered approach to fragrance combinations. Rather than relying on predictable seasonal scents, Florence Green creates blends with a little more character.
The result is a collection that feels luxurious while remaining approachable enough for everyday use.
Meet the Autumn Edit
The timing of our Supplier Spotlight could not be better because Florence Green has just launched its new Autumn Edit. The collection includes five new scent blends, new vessels and the return of the much-loved ceramic pumpkin range.
Those ceramic pumpkins previously sold out, so their return is particularly exciting. This time, they are available in two additional scents, including Autumn and Blackberry & Bay.
Kathryn’s personal favourite is Lottie, which is currently burning in the Florence Green workshop.
It is easy to see why seasonal collections work so well for a brand like this. As the evenings become cooler, scent can transform the atmosphere of a room. A candle can make a kitchen feel warmer, a living room feel cosier or a quiet evening feel more special.
The Autumn Edit will only be available for a limited time, or while stocks last.
Sustainability in Every Step
Sustainability is not treated as a separate part of the business. Instead, Florence Green considers it throughout the production process.
The brand uses ethically sourced natural soy wax and recyclable packaging. Where possible, Kathryn also chooses natural ingredients and works with British suppliers to help reduce the distance products and materials travel.
Small-batch production adds another important layer. Rather than producing large quantities at once, Kathryn makes each batch carefully and gives every product the time it needs.
That attention to detail reflects the same approach we value at Forage: buy well, source thoughtfully and never compromise simply for the sake of speed.
Giving Back Locally
Florence Green also has a strong connection with its local community.
Kathryn has worked with local schools, helping pupils make their own wax melts as part of fundraising activities. She has also created charity candles with a very personal meaning.
The Lottie Memorial Candle, created in memory of a much-loved member of the community, raised more than £3,000 for charity. It is a lovely example of how a small Welsh business can use its creativity to support the people around it.
