We’re thrilled to shine a light on one of our newest and most colourful local suppliers, Dirwest. They’re an alcohol-free brand bringing bold flavours, bilingual labels, and fun to every bottle. Founded by Nia Mon in 2024, Dirwest is based just 3 miles from Forage and already making waves across Wales.
As our product of the month for June 2025, you can visit the farm shop and enjoy 10% off the entire range of non-alcoholic beverages. Cheers to that.
A Refreshing, Non-Alcoholic Welsh Start
Dirwest began with a clear mission: to fill a gap in the Welsh market for exciting, alcohol-free beverages. With support from the Vale Council start-up bursary, Nia brought her vision to life. Her goal? “Bringing Welshness, colour and fun to bars and retailers.” Every product she creates proudly reflects that mission, offering a vibrant alternative for today’s drinkers.
What Makes the Alcohol Free Dirwest Drinks Different?
From bilingual labelling to bold, flavour-forward recipes, Dirwest drinks stand out on the shelf and in the glass. All products are gluten-free, vegan, and locally made in Wales with traceable ingredients. There’s no plastic packaging, and the brand works closely with local charities such as Inside Out Cymru and various dementia groups.
At Forage, we’re especially excited about Dirwest’s upcoming lagers. Their 2-shot miniature Botanical Spirits are perfect for mocktails or enjoying neat.
A Brand That Tells a Story
Look closely at a Dirwest bottle and you’ll spot a host of hidden treasures. From the Morganwg flag to school colours of Bro Morgannwg, and even a lucky hare tucked away on the label. Their beers and lagers proudly display iconic Welsh words and phrases, like “Yma o Hyd,” “I’r Gad,” and “Cofiwch Dryweryn” – each a powerful symbol of Welsh heritage and pride.
